AY4D-GH and Forestry Commission Partner to Combat Climate Change in Ghana’s Schools

On Tuesday, September 12th, 2023, the dedicated leadership of Action Youth for Development-Ghana (AY4D-GH), in collaboration with the Forestry Commission of Kintampo North, carried forward their noble mission of greening schools as part of the School Climate Change Program. Their latest endeavor took place at Badukrom Basic School, nestled in the heart of Kintampo North in the Bono East Region of Ghana.

This remarkable initiative revolves around the planting of trees, and its core objective is to actively contribute to the global fight against climate change. Trees play an indispensable role in mitigating the adverse effects of climate change by absorbing carbon dioxide, providing oxygen, and fostering a more sustainable environment.

The partnership between AY4D-GH and the Forestry Commission signifies a collaborative effort to address one of the most pressing global issues: climate change. By greening schools, this project not only enhances the beauty of the educational institutions but also educates students and communities about the significance of environmental conservation and the pivotal role trees play in maintaining ecological balance.

Badukrom Basic School serves as a testament to the commitment of these organizations to instill a sense of environmental responsibility and awareness in the younger generation. By planting trees on the school premises, the project not only helps combat climate change but also creates an educational opportunity for students to connect with nature and become stewards of the environment.

In an era when climate change poses a significant threat to our planet, initiatives like the School Climate Change Program at Badukrom Basic School are invaluable. They showcase the power of community collaboration, education, and proactive efforts in addressing this global challenge.

As AY4D-GH and the Forestry Commission continue their commendable work, they inspire hope and action, reminding us all that by taking small steps like planting trees in schools, we can collectively make a big difference in the fight against climate change.
